The Committee

The sections of the CDHS Constitution 2006 (1) dealing with the Committee are –

OFFICERS

6.1   The Officers of the Society shall consist of :

  • Chairman
  • Honorary Secretary / Deputy Chairman
  • Honorary Treasurer

6.2   All officers shall relinquish office every year and shall be eligible for re-election at the Annual General Meeting. No officer shall hold the position for more than five consecutive years.

6.3   Nominations for the election of Officers shall be made in writing to the Honorary Secretary at least fourteen days before the Annual General Meeting.

6.4   Such nominations shall be supported by a seconder and the consent of the proposed nominee must first have been obtained.

6.5   The elections of Officers shall be completed prior to the election of further Committee Members.

THE COMMITTEE

7.1   Two further members of the Committee will be elected from the membership, these being eligible for re-election at the Annual General Meeting.

7.2   The Committee shall have the power to co-opt up to two other members of the Society and also to co-opt members to fill vacancies occurring among the elected members between General Meetings.

7.3   The Committee shall meet at intervals of not more than four months and the Honorary Secretary shall give all Committee members not less than seven day’s notice of each meeting. The quorum for meetings of the Committee shall be five which must include three Officers.

SUB-COMMITTEES

8.1   The Committee may constitute such sub-committees from time to time as shall be considered necessary for such purposes as may be thought fit.

8.2   The Convenor of each sub-committee shall be appointed by the Committee and all actions and proceedings of each sub-committee shall be reported to and confirmed by the Committee.
